Costs

SharePoint

Building a SharePoint intranet site might, at first glance, seem an expensive proposition; having to take into account costs for a new server, software licences, developer time, etc etc.  However, this need not be the case - if you are using Windows Server 2003 or a later version of Windows, SharePoint Services (3.0) is already available!  With a powerful enough server already in place, it is possible to configure it to get your intranet up and running on your existing hardware.  All that’s needed is some time to perform the configuration and get your site set up.

SharePoint Services v Microsoft Office SharePoint Server

If your organisation wants to build a basic intranet site with an employee directory, document repository (maybe one for each department), wiki’s and blogs then SharePoint Services (WSS) is the most appropriate package for you.  It can also be used for building real time reporting dashboards and delivering your financial reports (for different systems) via your browser.  Building customised workflow solutions to streamline your business processes is also possible on the WSS platform.

If, however, your needs exceed purely internal usage and your site is to be used as an intranet, with part of it to be published on the World Wide Web-  for example as your company’s website – then Microsoft Office SharePoint Serve is the best option for you.  This system will give you the tools to make sure that the content you publish on the web meets your organisation’s strict standards and approval processes.

Training

Gas Light's IT training packages seek to solve particular problem areas within a company.  An initial visit is made by the trainer to ascertain the specific business requirements that need fulfilling, as well as areas for improvement, prior to the training session.  These areas are then covered in detail during the course, with the result that the company is not only left with a new IT solution, but also staff who now have the knowledge to maintain and, if necessary, reproduce it.

Gas Light provide training courses of an extremely high quality.  Rather than long, intensive sessions, when even the best staff can reach a limit of what they can take in, Gas Light prefer to limit the duration of the sessions and are happy to make a another visit at a later stage if necessary.  We also recommend training either one-to-one or in a groups of 2 to ensure that your staff get the maximum amount of tutor time, allowing them, and the business, to get the very best out of the training.

We charge our standard hourly rate multiplied by the number of delegates for the actual training. We do not charge for the first hour of analysis but anything over the first

Phoenix Financial Systems - Trust and Company

The Phoenix systems are truly exceptional pieces of software.  Not only that, but because you are only charged for the features of the system you need, it makes good financial sense too.  There is an initial cost per user and a further support fee per user that is charged on a yearly basis, which is calculated on a case-by-case basis, according to the business' requirements.  Please contact us with your requirements for an accurate quote for your business and we will be happy to arrange a demonstration of the system.

Gas Light charge £55 per hour for all training, analysis or development work. In order to provide better business value and prevent overruns on larger projects we are happy to offer a fixed rate fee.
